Overview

As we head into this next election season, let’s keep the momentum that we started in the 2020 election cycle. While some may consider this year an “off election year,” we at Young Women for US believe that there is no such thing. Therefore, this field plan demonstrates what we set out to accomplish this election cycle as we build community through action.

Get Involved

Going into this next election season, we will participate in phone banks for candidates running for the Virginia House of Delegates, Virginia Governor, Virginia Lieutenant Governor, United States House of Representatives, and New Jersey Governor. 
 

We want you to join us as we volunteer for candidates that will make positive change.

Virginia Lieutenant Gubernatorial Election        

Hala Ayala

  • ​Learn More About Hala Ayala

  • Democrats won this seat by 5.4% in 2017

  • Served as delegate in Virginia’s 51st district

  • Has worked to increase funding for the Virginia Railway Express as well as the  Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission in order to provide a myriad of options for commuters to travel to where they need to go

Virginia Gubernatorial Election         

Terry McAuliffe

  • Learn More About Terry McAuliffe 

  • Democrats won this seat by 8.9% in 2017

  • Served as 72nd Governor of Virginia from 2014-2018

  • In office, he was able to secure a $1 billion investment in education as well as expanding preschool

  • Plans to work to make Virginia 100% clean energy by 2035

New Jersey Gubernatorial Election      

Phil Murphy

  • Learn More About Phil Murphy 

  • Democrats won this seat by 13.5% in 2017

  • In his first term, he passed a law to mandate climate change education in K-12 schools.

  • He fought to make New Jersey the first state in the United States to provide arts education in all public schools.

  • He has expanded voting rights by passing automatic voter registration.
